Installing
a watering system at your home can prolong the life of your foundation.
It is an easy do-it-yourself project.
Keep your foundation safe from water fluctuations
Directions for Use:
Remember the goal of any watering system is to maintain consistent
moisture content year around. During the dry summer water no less
than twice a day (morning & evening) for at least 20 minutes.
In the winter it may not be necessary to water at all if rainfall
is about normal(around 4"). If you are tracking mud you have too
much water. This can be just as harmful as too little.
Hardware List:
- Soaker
Hose (enough to outline the perimeter of the home + some)
- 1
Vacum Breaker
- 1
Timer
- *(Optional)
1 Y to use with the hose bib. Use if you need access to the
faucet for other purposes.
You
will need one for each faucet you are working from.
This can be as easy as placing a soaker hose around your home
& turning on the faucet. For better results follow the directions
below.
Assembly:
- Dig
a trench 18" out from the base of the home around the entire
perimeter. The trench should be about 6" deep. You can work
from multiple faucets to accommodate for driveways, sidewalks
& patios.
- Place
the soaker hose in the trench.
- Put
the timer together & program it based on the season.
- Attach
the vacuum breaker to the soaker hose
- Attach
the timer to the faucet
- Connect
the soaker hose to the timer & turn on the faucet. You
are finished.
